Six months old!

The kids had their six month check up last week. Everyone is growing, although Nikki has really jumped up in the growth charts. She's now in the 98th percentile! She's gotten to be a chunker. Ben slid down a little to the 25th percentile, but the doctor is happy with how much he's grown.

Ben
Weight: 16 pounds 6 ounces
Length: 26 inches

Achievements: He has gotten to really enjoy being on his tummy (he used to hate it and roll onto his back right away). He can get his knees under his butt, although only for a second, and he slides backwards. He can sit, but he doesn't like to stay still for that long, so he falls over after a couple of seconds. He can stand and lean against the coffee table or his exersaucer for a few minutes at a time. He can drink out of a sippy cup (with mom or dad holding it for him). He has become quite the talker in the past month.

Likes: Standing. Going running/walking in the jogging stroller. Baths. Playing with his toys. Playing with and chewing/sucking on his feet. Being tickled.

Dislikes: He still does not like bedtime/naptime. He fights it every time.

Nikki
Weight: 18 pounds
Length: 26.5 inches

Achievements: She is an accomplished sitter. She can reach for toys while sitting, but she sometimes falls over when she tries to look all the way behind her. She is working on the sippy cup thing. She can imitate a lot of hand movements. She can also get her knees under her butt as if to crawl, but ends up going backwards (similar to Ben). She has a distinguished hungry cry, it sounds like she's saying, "I want my babababa," although slightly slurred. It's so darn cute.

Likes: Going running/walking in the jogging stroller. Baths. Playing with her toys. Playing with her feet (she cannot get them into her mouth because her tummy is in the way). Shopping (they each got to ride in the front of the shopping cart the other day). Petting the puppies. Being tickled. Playing World of Warcraft (see next post).

Dislikes: There isn't anything we've found that she does not like. She is a very happy baby.
