The kids are really healthy and growing like weeds. Nikki is taller than Ben, 35 inches vs. 33 1/2, and weighs more, 28 lbs. vs. 27. This puts Nikki around the 60-80th percentiles and Ben closer to 20-30th percentiles.
They are both talking, but their vocabulary is limited to about 8-15 words. They can both say "Up please," but that is their only 2-word sentence. I think they understand most of what we say.
They both eat like champs, each eats more than some adults I know! Ben definitely has a sweet tooth, but Nikki doesn't really care for sweet stuff. They are able to drink out of cups with no lids, but only when we are prepared to clean up a mess. They have both used the potty a couple of times, but we are not pushing this. We will let them tell us when they are ready to potty train.
Ben seems to be more of a bully right now. He knows that it is wrong to hit, kick, push, bite, or ride your bike into people/puppies, but he just can't help himself. Nikki knows these things are wrong, but she is sneakier about it. She waits until we are not looking or are not in the room to do it, and, if caught, she runs away quickly before we can get her. As for disciplining them, Ben responds to putting his toys in time out. He doesn't like this at all. He'll roll on the floor and cry for several minutes. Nikki is a bit more difficult. If we take her toy away, she'll just go and find something else to play with. It's a good thing she doesn't get into trouble much. She more of the tattle-tale.
They love to play outside, in the water/pool, and ride their bikes. They are finding it difficult to share (who doesn't), but they are starting to play together, too. They understand when the other is in trouble or needs attention and are getting good at waiting for their turn. They sleep very well, going to bed at 8pm and sleeping until 6:30 am, when Joe gets them ready to leave. They still take one nap per day, anywhere from 2-3 hours. Gram got a toddler bed for both of them, and they are super excited about them still! They have slept on them at her house for a couple of weeks now.
Ben has gone through his Mommy attachment phase, and Nikki is in the midst of it. I'm hoping it doesn't last much longer.

Both are looking great. I think the Mommy attachment phase lasts a lifetime however :P
Tell me more about toddler beds!!! I'm dying to know when and how you're going to tackle this adventure. Finn & Belle have each escaped the cribs once, by accident. Nothing regular though.
