Superstorm and Halloween

The later part of October was filled with Superstorm Sandy and Halloween.  Thankfully, we were not harmed at all by Sandy.  The worst part for us was being stuck inside the house for 3 days.  Nothing in the area was open, and it was windy, rainy, and cold outside.  I have never been so happy to go back to work! (hee-hee)

So, in an effort to entertain the kids, we did lots of cooking and baking, playing, and had a campout in the living room.

For Halloween, since we don't live in a neighborhood, we went to a block party in Easton that was sponsored by a church.  It was lots of fun.  They had tables set up with games for the kids to play, handed out candy at each table, had a few moon bounces, and face painting.  All of it was entirely free!  They didn't even accept donations.

Nikki was a princess (of course) for Halloween, and Ben was Jake the Pirate.

Nikki is showing off her trophy from soccer.  She was very proud of it.  She worked really hard to earn her trophy.

Making preparations for our campout.

At one point, they had all of their stuff piled in the doorway so that you couldn't get into the living room.

Nikki in her new sleeping bag with her new Minnie Mouse toy.

Ben loves watching his truck movies on the nook or Nexus tablets.  That's all he wants to do.

The princess is digging through the corn for toys!

Her first face painting!  A butterfly!

Ben loves moon bounces!  It doesn't matter if it's a bounce house, slide, or obstacle course.  He loves them all!
