New living room is almost done!

We finished the painting the other day, and we moved our furniture into our new living room last night! Yeah! The room is 99% finished. We just have a few minor things left to do (put the vents back on the air conditioner holes in the ceiling, wash the windows, and put the new door jamb things on, install ceiling fans, have electrician change outlets to white). We're not set on the furniture arrangement yet. Here are some before and after pictures.

Looking towards the backyard. We took the window unit out of the window, put up new trim, and painted everything a refreshing off-white color (to hide some of the imperfections).

View from the kitchen. We tore up the carpet, and replaced it with the earth-friendly version made from recycled plastic bottles. Our furniture and rug match very well with the color we picked. We also replaced the ceiling (our rationale for doing this project was because the ceiling was falling down chunk by chunk) and put in recessed lighting. There are two hook-ups for ceiling fans: one over the living room and one over the play area. I will be making a trip to Lowe's in the near future to get new fans.

We also plan to move the wood-burning stove back in to the room as it starts to get colder. We think it's a big selling point for the house. We have cleaned it thoroughly, so it looks tons better already. We will probably have to come up with some other furniture arrangement before then, too.

Jake seems to be adjusting to the new room fairly well (you can see him on the couch in the first picture), but Maggie is very confused. After we were finished last night, she went into the bedroom and layed down on her bed for the rest of the night. She still isn't too sure what's going on.

A note on our c-section: It is scheduled for 10:15 Thursday morning. Joe and I have to be at the hospital at 7 am for check-in and get everything started. It may not go at exactly 10:15, however, because the L&D department doesn't have a dedicated anesthesiologist, so we are at the mercy of the main OR's schedule. Therefore, it may get started slightly earlier (doubtful), or slightly later (more than likely).
