Well, I think everyone knows by now that our buyers backed out of their contract to buy our house. It seems silly that we went through the trouble of signing all of those documents and addendums, and they backed out anyway. They showed up at our house, unannounced, with an home inspector, well after their 2 week inspection period was over. Oh well.
On a brighter note, our realtors informed us that there was somebody else who was interested in our house, and their realtor had been calling every week since we signed the contract. Our people got in touch with their people, and we received an offer today. Yay! We are meeting with our people tomorrow to sign the papers, because there are a few things that need to be changed.
I guess what Mom always told me was true: "Everything happens for a reason." The offer we received was for $4000 more than the previous offer. However, the buyers have to have something on their credit report fixed before they apply for a loan, and asked for an extension. So, our tentative closing date will be September 27, 2013. That's about 3 months from now. We will see what we can do about the contract we signed to buy the other house...
